Cameron Targets Most Vulnerable; Views of the North

YET again David Cameron is targeting the poorest in society in an attempt to reconnect with the far right of his party. Of the 300,000-plus people aged under 25 on housing benefit, approximately two thirds have children. While bringing up children on a low income is difficult enough, Mr Cameron has decided to make life even harder by making them homeless. In a number of cases they will have to make extremely difficult decisions.

A person who has escaped an abusive home may have to consider moving back. A family may have to move in with grandparents or, even worse, move their children into a house where there was previous abuse.

Thankfully, he is only setting out his stall for the next election and it isn't Government policy, yet. But it does show how this former PR man, with his all style and no substance, is clutching at straws.

Just because 70% of the population believes the cost of welfare needs to be cut, doesn't mean it's right. What Mr Cameron should be focusing on are those individuals and companies that do not pay their fair share of tax. …
