FOOTBALL: The QCCS Whitsunday Miners head to Bundaberg today searching for another three points and a step closer to the QSL finals.

After a win at home last weekend against Capricorn Cougars the Miners have regained third position, and although Bundaberg is a lowly eighth coach Graham Harvey is taking nothing for granted.

aThey've improved a lot since last year, they've been the big improvers of the league,a he said.

aWe've got to make sure we approach the game in a professional manner.

aSure they're eighth, but having seen them play I'd probably say that that does not do them justice.a

Several Miners players impressed Harvey with their best performances of the season last weekend against the Cougars, and he is confident they are ready to push ahead to their aim of making the finals.

aMichael Leslie played some of the best football in defence that I've seen him play since he joined the club,a Harvey said. …
