AFTER eight-and-a-half years at the helm, Wyrallah Road Public School principal Ralph Taylor is retiring to follow his private dreams.

Reflecting on his almost 40 years in public education, Mr Taylor said athe time is right for the school and for mea.

aI'm sad that I'm leaving but it's right. I've gone full circle in a career that started and finished in Lismore.''

Mr Taylor completed his training at the old Lismore Teachers' College before getting his first job at Casino West in 1973.

He then went to teach in Sydney, the Hunter, the Riverina and the Mid North Coast before returning ahome'' to Lismore.

aI inherited a great school from former principal Keith Stratton and virtually picked up from where he left off,'' Mr Taylor said.

aHe saw the need for a hall so the school could have its own identity. After using Lismore High School's hall for so long, we now have our own. …
