'My Confidence Is Sky-High after Surgery'

MUM Ruth Abraham has spent up to pounds 13,000 on cosmetic surgery following her dramatic weight loss.

Almost two decade's ago the businesswoman shed eight stone in weight and dropped from a dress size 24 to a svelte size 12.

The 43-year-old loved her new slimline look but was unhappy with the loose skin around her stomach area and the change in her breasts shape.

To help achieve her ideal body, Ruth has been under the knife eight times for cosmetic surgery, including a tummy tuck, liposuction, breast reduction and breast lift.

Ruth, from Bowburn, Durham, said: "Before the weight loss and surgery I was not confident at all and it did affect my quality of life.

"When I went on holiday I didn't want to wear a bikini or go swimming, and my clothes just didn't fit me correctly.

"So I decided to go on an extreme diet and I lost eight stone in weight.

"This left me with loose skin so I decided to have a tummy tuck, and I've had several procedures since then to enhance the shape of my breasts.

"My confidence is sky-high and I feel so much better about myself. I do the cosmetic surgery for me and I will have more done in the future."

Ruth, who has a daughter, Rebecca, 20, has spent thousands of pounds on her cosmetic surgery at the region's Spire Washington Hospital, which she highly recommends.

A large majority of the procedures have been paid for as gifts from loved ones and she is saving up cash for a further tummy tuck.

"My life has completely changed as a result of the cosmetic surgery," explained Ruth, who has been dating Iain Ward, 43, a data analyst, for 16 months.

"I had been single for a lot of years as I wouldn't go out or speak to men, so I thought I would remain single as I had very little confidence.

"But I felt completely different when I had my breasts reduced from a size 38G to a 36C. …
