WITH ten-time Group One winner See You Think ruled out by injury for what was to have been his farewell appearance in the Coral-Eclipse Stakes, it opens the door for Farhh to confirm his swift rise in the ranks.

See You Think was found to be lame with a pulled muscle and is now in quarantine before returning to Australia to begin a stud career.

The Eclipse, which he won last year at the expense of Workforce, would have been the final chapter of a great career in which he won 14 of his 23 races.

While his absence takes some of the shine off today's Sandown showpiece, the field still includes five Group 1 winners and the rapidly-improving Farhh.

When you consider Farhh won the Thirsk Hunt Cup in early May, blowing away the opposition without going through all the gears, it says much for his potential that he lines up here as the likely winner. Winner of a Newmarket maiden as a two-year-old and a handicap on the same track last year on his only two appearances in as many seasons, the Eclipse will be only his fifth race and he has improved with every run.

Winning a Thirsk handicap, albeit in a canter, is a far cry from contesting the Group 1 Prince Of Wales's Stakes, but that's how highly he is rated by Godolphin and he justified this huge step up in class by covering himself in glory without actually winning.

Slowly away after rearing as the stalls opened, he made good progress up the inside rail only to be stopped in his run. He finished strongly after being switched to see daylight and, although it would have taken wings to catch So You Think, Farhh would have finished closer and almost certainly collared Carlton House for second spot. Lack of experience at the highest level could count against Farhh, while connections would like to see some rain, believe it or not, but I still think he has what it takes to win. …
