Atkin Aims to Retain Fish 'O' Mania Title

TEESSIDE stillwater ace Shane Atkin is today targetting a stunning double.

The Billingham Angling Club star is aiming to become the first person to ever retain the Fish 'O' Mania title.

He won the coveted national award - complete with pounds 30,000 prize money last year - and after qualifying for today's final, is back at Cudmore Fisheries in Staffordshire aiming to create history by retaining the title.

He is joined in the last 16 by Billingham teammates Simon Medd and Adam Richards.

It is understood to be the first time ever that three members of the same club have competed in the final of the Angling Trust event.

Shane said: "I'd love to win it again. It would be fantastic to be the first to win it twice in a row. The only angler so far to win it twice was Matt Hall, but his wins came six years apart. …
