THE death occurred of Mrs. Eileen Lucille Goddard, of Clarence Street, Grafton at the age of 56 years. She was the wife of Mr. Tom Goddard, builder. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sullivan. Her father was for many years a warder at the Grafton Gaol. Mr. and Mrs. Goddard had no children.

FOUR tries by brilliant young Barbarian winger, Ray Cattanach, played a major part in a 23-15 win by Barbarians over Lower River in Rugby League yesterday. Coach Peter Horne was sent off in the second half of play, after he had passed a remark to the referee. Barbarians forward, Peter Sullivan, had to leave the field in the first half with an injured hand. Cattanach, S. Webster and D. Mowles were the best for Barbarians, while D. Turner, D. Towell and R. Laurie were outstanding for Lower River.

UNITED finished with a magnificent burst of football to beat All Blacks 17-11 in their first grade Rugby League match at the Grafton Showground yesterday. …
