MAYOR Margaret Strelow yesterday announced council might spend up to $1million each year developing the Yeppoon foreshore precinct.

It came as councillors hit the pavement in Yeppoon to ask business owners to put their thinking caps on to generate budget-friendly ideas.

Deputy Mayor Tony Williams said locals made many suggestions for the area between the Yeppoon Surf Life Saving Club and the Keppel Bay Sailing Club along Anzac Pde.

Many business owners suggested the model of Townsville's idyllic Strand, which incorporates a water adventure playground and large grassed areas. …
