Airport Parking Firm Called Stress Free Crashed My Mini into a Tree

A DRIVER at an airport parking firm has been sacked after crashing a holidaymaker's car into a tree.

David Fox left his BMW Mini Cooper with valet service Stress Free Parking last month before a trip to Spain.

But he returned to Luton Airport to discover the vehicle had been written off. Instead of walking out of arrivals to find his car waiting for him, he was met by a company representative who broke the bad news.

At Mr Fox's request, the car was taken to a specialist garage where mechanics confirmed the cost of repairs would exceed its value.

Mr Fox, 55, from Edgware, was told the driver was sacked after the crash, which happened while moving the fouryear-old Mini to a secure car park, causing [pounds sterling]16,000 damage.

He said he could not believe what had happened, adding: "This service sounded great but it turned into an absolute nightmare. The fact my car was destroyed is my main concern."

Stress Free Parking has admitted liability for the accident, but Mr Fox is now in dispute with the firm's insurers over the car's value. …
