KILLING OFF GOD Who in their right mind wants to know when the world is to end Some scientific fool yes someone round the bend, Are they not idiots creating the so-called big bang Killing off God as the creator of the universe and man Trillions being spent on non helpful events Pouring resources into outer space When they should be concentrating their efforts On improving the condition of the human race, Millions starving and dying from hunger and thirst While their salvation is poured into an endless space Looking for an idiotic so called Black Hole From which when found there is no escape, It's crazy completely mad, common sense forgotten The state of the world is in a grip of Madness Led by men experts in the art of creating Frustration and sadness.

WILLIAM BANKS, Seghill MY GUIDING LIGHT No matter where in the world I may be You are and always will be In both my heart and dreams For you once walked by my side Through both night and day You were the one who kept All of the worlds pains and sorrows away You also taught me right from wrong As well as to be strong And how to fill my life Full of love and happiness With the angel of my dreams But now dear mother you're an angel Sitting by the good Lord's side And no matter how old I may grow to be You will always be both in my heart and dreams As well as my guiding light throughout DONALD JOHN TYE, Wallsend SUMMER DREAMS I've known you A long time now But each day You seem different Different like a cloud In the park We dance and sing Sit on chairs And stare at Strangers who have Brothers and sisters The aeroplanes fly Like steel kites And birds the shapes And sounds Streak Across the Sunderland Sky I've known you A long time now Yet sometimes I don't know you At all You seem so distant In a dream In an adventure Where I cannot go A private place With sunshine And fish and chips And ice-cream KENNETH MOOD, Swalwell
