THE Buddina coastline was a sea of blue as hundreds rallied to support local charity Bloomhill Cancer Help.

Organisers of the third annual Bloomhill Cancer Help Support Walk couldn't have wished for better weather as more than 300 walkers made the trek from Kawana Surf Club to Point Cartwright and back.

Walkers were invited to dress in Bloomhill's official blue colour, and the coastal walkway was filled with blue t-shirts, wigs, tutus, flags and even the occasional blue dog.

Among the crowd was Pat Dingey a a woman who knows the true importance of the community's support for cancer charities.

The 68-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer three years ago and while she has beaten it, she said she couldn't have done it without the cancer support organisations.

aMy breast cancer was oestrogen receptive which was caused by too much oestrogen in my body,a Mrs Dingey said.

aI am totally clear and that was from early detection and the help and support from all the cancer organisations. …
