COFFS United returned to its winning ways with a comprehensive 4-0 win over traditional rivals Coffs Coast Tigers at Polwarth Drive.

A brace from Ben Mackay helped the Lions easily account for the Tigers in a game the visitors controlled from the outset.

The visitors took the lead after 10 minutes when Mackay volleyed home from the penalty spot following a great cross from Ben Dooley.

Mackay turned provider moments later, with a deft flick that allowed Dooley to beat the keeper one on one.

The game was all but wrapped up before half-time when Mackay scored his second, from another sublime Dooley cross, to make it 3-0.

aAfter last week's tough result we knew we had to get off to a good start and I think we did that tonight,a Coffs United defender Mike Swarbrick said.

aThe combination of Ben (Mackay) and Chris (Dooley) worked wonders and it was great to go into the break with such a big lead.
