A FORMER Bundaberg woman has received a backstage pass to the London Olympics, providing an amazing experience for herself and her family.

Running a London-based television post production company with her husband Soren, Melissa Andersen's media contacts have allowed the family to see a side of the Olympics rarely seen by most.

C[pounds sterling]One of our friends is working on the Channel 9 coverage of the Games and arranged for us to do a tour of the International Broadcast Centre, where we were able to see the extraordinary technical and transmission area, taking feeds from the venues and sending them out to rights holding broadcasters throughout the world,C[yen] Mrs Andersen said.

C[pounds sterling]The highlight of the tour was definitely visiting the Channel 9 Olympic Studio where Karl Stefanovic was presenting.

C[pounds sterling]Karl and the crew kindly invited us in and let the children sit in his presenter's chair which they thought was absolutely fantastic. …
