Burglar a 'Disaster' Court Told of Crimes

A BURGLAR was recognised by his victim - as unbeknown to him he had burgled her less than a year previously.

Neville Holdsworth, whose own barrister described him as "a bit of a disaster", repeatedly commits crimes and can't remember them due to his heroin intake, Teesside Crown Court heard.

The 29-year-old was spotted on the roof of a house's garage on Park Road South, opposite Albert Park, Middlesbrough, by the victim's young daughter at about 8.45pm on May 21.

The mum then watched as Holdsworth dropped from the roof into the garden and then entered the garage, prosecutor Harry Hadfield said.

Mr Hadfield said the woman recognised the defendant as the same person who burgled their garage in October last year. The court heard Holdsworth was convicted of burglary with intent to steal for that offence.

Police were called and he was arrested at the scene.
