ATHLETICS: Mackay Olympian Benita Willis has identified next August's Moscow world championships marathon as a possible future goal as she continues to recover from an injured hip.

Willis, who finished 100th in the London Olympic marathon after running the 42.1km in constant pain said her plans for the immediate future was to continue her recovery and enjoy some downtime with her family.

aSince being back in Brisbane over the past couple of days, I have spent plenty of time with my family just hanging out and doing normal things,a she said.

aThat has included going to movies, cafes and even going to a Broncos game.

aThere is no better way to spend the short time I have in Australia than being with my sister (Caitlin) and mum (Merilyn).

aMy hip is feeling better and better but I haven't started doing any training as yet,a she said.

Willis said during the London Olympics she was inspired by the emails and messages she received from Mackay supporters. …
