Man Accused of Robbing Prince Harry Pal 'Has Mugged Before'

THE man accused of robbing one of Prince Harry's oldest friends has a history of carrying out violent muggings, a court heard today.

Thomas van Straubenzee, 29, was chatting on his Nokia mobile as he walked home from work at 7.15pm on November 30 last year when he was attacked by Winful Taylor and another man, it is alleged.

Today it was revealed that a month earlier Taylor and an accomplice had tackled a lone man in an attempted mugging.

In the attack on Mr van Straubenzee he was grabbed by the throat and rugby tackled to the ground. It is alleged that the defendants knelt on his neck and lower body and threatened they had a knife as one covered his mouth to stop him crying for help.

They took his Nokia and he handed over his BlackBerry and a Pickett wallet, it is alleged. The two men then ran off and a passerby called the police. …
