THE MET faced growing questions today over the role of Prince Harry's protection officers as the row deepened over pictures taken at a Las Vegas pool party.

Two royal bodyguards are set to be quizzed over claims they failed to prevent guests taking pictures of the naked prince.

Scotland Yard officially refused to comment but Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe is understood to have asked to be personally briefed on the issue. The US website that first published the photographs reported that the protection officers failed to ask partygoers to hand over their phones on entering the prince's hotel suite and made only cursory attempts to stop them taking pictures.

One is quoted as "lackadaisically" telling women who started taking images on their mobile phones: "Aww, come on .... no photos."
