WHAT makes a reasonably healthy 38-year-old decide he wants to get punched in the head?

Mid-life crisis, perhaps.

I'm telling myself it is all about the challenge and the reward that comes from achieving something when you take yourself outside your comfort zone, where I have been cocooned for too long.

The other reason is to get really fit again, like I haven't been since the last millennium.

Also, Anthony Fowler can be a persuasive bloke, so I've taken up his challenge to box on the under card of his planned state title defence in Ipswich later this year.

Once I agreed, I needed to find an opponent.

Dave is a former Zen Do Kai brown belt and is a runner, so he should have the edge on me in both ability and fitness.
