Pardew: Cabaye Has Got Big Part to Play

ALAN PARDEW expects sought-after midfielder Yohan Cabaye to play his part in a huge week for Newcastle United.

And it is hoped that injured Cheick Tiote will be back in time for the weekend encounter with Aston Villa as the Magpies look to get back to winning ways.

Both Cabaye and Tiote have been linked with exits from St James' Park this week, and the United faithful are praying both are still Toon players come Saturday morning with Arsenal and Spurs thought to be interested in the pair.

Pardew told the Chronicle today: "Yohan Cabaye (pictured right) looks fine which is good for us.

"I think we are OK with everybody else."

Yet Pardew's main concern is getting them back out on the pitch in United colours with the season already hitting a crucial point, with the Europa League group qualifiers to be decided this week and three points up for grabs against Aston Villa.

The French international star retired early in the 2-0 defeat against Chelsea with 13 minutes left as Pardew started to think about the crucial Europa League tie with Atromitos and Sunday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa. …
