WE ALL like to think we would easily slip into the role of the Good Samaritan.

But would that be the case if there was a personal best at stake?

Terri Chrisman found out first hand last weekend and said the result restored her faith in humanity.

Terri was one of hundreds of runners who lined up for last Sunday's Sunshine Coast Marathon.

But in the final stretch of the 42km run, the first-timer got into trouble.

aAll was going swimmingly for me when, at about the 40km mark, it hit me that I was actually going to finish and much faster than I had anticipated,a the Noosaville runner said.

aAll of a sudden a wave of emotion enveloped me and I started to sob uncontrollably.

What Terri didn't know was that runners in the 10km event had caught her and one of the leaders a a man whose identity is still a mystery a decided helping her was more important than winning. …
