AGEING greyhound Give 'Em Curry celebrated his 100th race start with a determined win in a Stayers Stake (620m) at the Casino TAB meeting last Friday.

Beginning well from box seven, Give CyEm Curry (Bit Chili - Nightmare Lil) was on the pace until approaching the home straight where he had a brief tussle with Crescent Andy before drawing away for a 2A'-length win in 35.85 seconds.

Prepared at Dulguigan by Des Gilroy, the win on Friday was the greyhound's 13th, four of them now being over the 620m at Casino.

An April 2008 whelping, Give CyEm Curry is still racing with great heart and determination and, judging by his latest effort, further wins are in store.

Promising youngster Dollar Note (Knocka Norris - Proper Jessica) gave Pillar Valley breeders, owners and trainers Elva and Reg Gardoll the first leg of a winning double, taking out a Maiden (411m).

Having only his second start, Dollar Note tracked the leader Almighty Miss to the turn before powering away for a two-length winin a slick 23.15s.

Steaming home with a final section of 14.50s, Elavena (El Galo - Nellie Bligh) gave the couple the second leg of the double by taking out a heat of the Formaggin Plumbing 1-3 Series (411m).

Beginning only fairly from box eight, Elavena dropped on to the rails mid-race before securing a needle-eye opening on the turn and then careering away for a 5A'-length win in 23. …
