THE SCAPEGOAT ITV1, 9pm The works of author Daphne Du Maurier have made for some great thrillers, and ITV will be hoping that The Scapegoat is no exception. It's set in 1952, and stars Matthew Rhys in the dual role of John Standing and Johnny Spence, two very different men who just happen to look absolutely identical. Following a chance encounter, former teacher Standing finds himself taking on the charismatic Spence's life, which turns out to include a crumbling stately home, drug-taking mother, unhappy wife and two mistresses.

PARALYMPIC GAMES 2012 CLOSING CEREMONY Channel 4, 7pm While it could be said that the Olympics began with a bang and ended with a whimper, with its Closing Ceremony not quite living up to the very high expectations afforded by a magnificent Opening Ceremony and astonishing Games, hopes are high that its Paralympics counterpart will suffer no such criticism.
