CAMELOT can end a 42-year wait and become the first Triple Crown winner since Nijinsky with victory in the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster.

While he is hardly a backable price, it would be folly to go against a colt who arrives here unbeaten in five starts, with three of those victories being Classic wins.

The son of Montjeu has carried all before him this year, with trainer Aidan O'Brien campaigning him sparingly with a Triple Crown bid in his sights.

He battled to win over an inadequate trip of a mile in the 2000 Guineas before a hugely impressive win the Derby at Epsom.

Dundonnell is another who is quickly rising through the ranks and he is the choice in the One Call Insurance Champagne Stakes.

Third on his debut at Newmarket in July, he stepped up on that with a 12-length romp at Lingfield at the beginning of last month, prompting trainer Roger Charlton to raise his sights to Pattern company.

That proved a shrewd move as Dundonnell duly obliged as favourite in the Acomb at York, despite the race not really unfolding in his favour. …
