PROMINENT Sunshine Coast sportsman Clint Robinson has accused members of the media of acreating their own agendasa following council's appointment of Surf Life Saving Queensland to manage lifeguard services on the Coast.

The Olympic gold medallist and former Sunshine Coast Council ambassador defended SLSQ and hit back at some sections of the media for amisinforming'' the public.

aPeople in the media have been creating their own agendas through their own affiliations with certain groups and have geared themselves a certain way,a Mr Robinson said.

aThey're using their own access to media channels to fabricate an element of the truth which isn't right.

aSome of those people are more worried about their own vested interests.a

Sunshine Coast lifeguards, who were employed by council, will now be employed by SLSQ, creating a sense of uncertainty within the lifeguard fraternity. Mr Robinson said that lifeguards should be happy with the employment guarantees offered to them as opposed to the rest of the working public. …
