LAUREN AHERN, MALLEE CARTER AND ZOE LAWRENCE-DALY (Year 6)

On Thursday, August 30, all the students and some teachers of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish School (OLHC) dressed for a spectacular Book Week parade. The Parish pre-School also came to our school. This year's theme was Champions Read. Throughout the week children participated in a range of activities, including the parade.

During and after the parade, the Parish pre-school children were able to join in on the fun that was organised by the Year 6 students. The games varied from parachute, tenpin bowling, cat and mouse, fantastic ball games and much more. When the pre-school students left, years 3, 4, 5 and 6 students did some literacy rotations. There were three rotations, one with Mr Mainey where we watched a story about the Grinch; one with Mrs McAnelly, where she read a story about a kangaroo who could not jump, then we had to complete a drawing about the story. Then Miss Forsyth read a story to us called The Little Refugee and we had to draw a new book cover. …
