NMS writing results: Year 9

Whitsunday Anglican School: 98%

Holy Spirit College: 85%

Mercy College: 81%

Mackay Christian College: 76%

Mackay North State High School: 74%

Mackay State High School: 73%

Pioneer State High School: 60%

Sarina State High School: 60%

MACKAY'S NAPLAN results are in and while gold stars weren't handed out all around, the results are promising.

Stephen Bobby, acting principal of Mackay North State School, said he was pleased with his school's results.

C[pounds sterling]The kids and the teachers have done a fantastic job,C[yen] he said.

The results revealed more than 90% of students at the primary school achieved or exceeded the National Minimum Standard (NMS) for reading, writing, grammar and punctuation and numeracy.

The only result under this was Year 3 spelling with 82% of students achieving or exceeding the NMS. …
