FOR some reason, I don't like vacuums.

Not the kind that suck up dirt. I'm talking about the ones created when you're shut off from the rest of the world.

The vacuum of being locked away with no knowledge of what's happening outside. I have a real problem with going to the cinema, for example. For some reason I get all funny when the movie finishes and it's time to leave the theatre. I don't like that feeling of having no contact with the rest of the world for two hours.

What if something happened in the real world while we were stuck inside? What if someone came and substituted all the real people with androids or mutants?

Sure, the people wandering around the shopping centre look like the real thing but how can you know for sure? …
