EVERYBODY eats or we starve together.

That's the message singer Sarah Bennett and the rest of the SupaFresh crew are delivering on and off stage.

Bennett, who has been singing all her life, says the Lismore-based group, including Mitch King, Blake Rhodes, Shelton Johnson and Lincoln Knight, are all about conscious hip hop. Making sure they put out the right messages to their fans.

aNo matter who you are or where you come from, it's all about being the best you can be and being the example,a Bennett tells Pulse.

She says they're keen to present a positive message to their Indigenous peers.

aWe're all about indigenous hip hop and letting people know they can dream beyond their means,a she says. aThere's no shame. We do workshops as well and that's one of the essential messages, letting people know there's no need to feel shame anymore.a

Bennett says young Indigenous people can feel shame as a result of being looked at in a different light by others in the community, so it's important to change that way of thinking. …
