Happy Trails in National Park; Runners Get Chance to Enjoy Splendour of World Heritage Area

WASHPOOL and Gibraltar Range national parks will play host to the Trail Running Association of Queensland next weekend when more than 100 people take to the trails as part of the annual fun runs.

TRAQ has been staging the runs in the region since 2009 as part of its yearly schedule.

Event organiser Greg Waite said it was decided to include the run after taking time out to explore the area.

aBefore we included the Washpool/Gibraltar run we came down and camped for a few days,a Waite said. aMe and a few other members of TRAQ had a bit of a look around and really liked the trails.

aWe only had a smallish number the first time we did it but it's been steadily increasing in the years since.a

TRAQ has offered three courses for the day a a 9km fun run, 25km for the more competitive runners, and a testing 50km course that covers the entire heritage trail.
