NRL: Kangaroos second-rower Paul Gallen hasn't missed a training session this week a not many league fans would bat an eyelid at that.

But leading into Saturday night's Test against New Zealand at Dairy Farmers Stadium, that has been a welcome change compared to the back end of the NRL season.

The Sharks and Blues captain was then hampered by an ongoing posterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee that stopped him from training for the Sharks.

In good news for Kangaroos supporters, Gallen said he feels good after having some time to recover following Cronulla's exit in the first week of the finals series.

aThe knee's fine. I did miss a lot of training going into the back end of the year, but I haven't missed a session so far this week,a he said.

aThings are feeling pretty good. I've had four weeks off.

aI didn't do a training session at all for six weeks. It was working okay because I was still playing okay and we weren't going too bad.a

Gallen was a big advocate of Cowboys prop James Tamou's selection up front for the Blues this year. …
