BUNDABERG musician Pete O'Brien will launch his debut album, Strange Daze, at the Railway Hotel on Saturday night.

The singer-songwriter recently put the finishing touches on a 10-track LP with the help of a team of Nashville, Tennessee, session musicians.

O'Brien said the launch would be the realisation of a dream he had harboured since he was a young child.

C[pounds sterling]This is something I thought about sitting out on the porch playing guitar as a kid,C[yen] he said.

The album was produced in Nashville by Panda Productions and features session musicians such as steel guitarist Mike Johnston who has performed with the likes of Brad Paisley and Willie Nelson and pianist Roger Morris who has recorded with KD Lang.

O'Brien shot to prominence with his song We All Live In The Same Town, which became an unofficial anthem of Bundaberg's experience in the Queensland floods. …
