Yamaha Signs Ferris for Tilt at World Titles

KYOGLE dirt-bike racer Dean Ferris will begin another chapter in his career having signed on to ride for the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team in the FIM Motocross World Championships next year.

The 22-year-old professional will ride a Yamaha YZ250F in the MX2-GP class.

aObviously I'm super excited, this is the best ride I have had so far with a very good and established team,a Ferris told motocross website www.fullnoise.com.au.

aI know the YZ250F is very competitive and I feel like I have a great chance to show what I can do in 2013.

aI am fully recovered from the shoulder problem I had earlier this year.

Ferris was based in Belgium this year and raced for the Ice One Kawasaki team, with whom he has now parted ways. He was injured in the second round of the Spanish Championship, where he broke his elbow after winning the opening round.

Ferris competed throughout Europe on a fortnightly basis, as well as Brazil, Mexico and Russia. …
