TINTENBAR-East Ballina batsman Kent Shay might be getting a bit long in the tooth but he has a chance of posting a big score in the Far North Coast LJ Hooker League against Casino at Queen Elizabeth Park, Casino, today.

Shay will resume on 31 after the 'Bar bowled Casino out for 224 on the opening day of their two-day match. They sit on a healthy 1-59 with plenty of batting to come.

aI'm not thinking about big scores. It will take a real team effort,a Shay said.

aI've been playing for a long time and it's a great club to be part of.

aWe got off to a pretty good start and we need to knuckle down now.

aIt's always a tough road trip over there and anything over 220 is hard to chase.a

Shay was a late inclusion in the team and has only played one game in the lower grades this season.

He moved into opening bat with Phil Dalli and Kane Hamilton both unavailable for the third-round fixture. …
