MOBILE phone use has grown at a rapid pace, and searching behaviours are evolving to match.

Job-seeking activity on SEEK is no exception.

Since July, there has been an 80% increase in visits to SEEK from mobile devices in the central region compared to 51% on the desktop site.

In the past month alone, SEEK has seen an increase in traffic to the mobile website of 23% and visits from the SEEK iPhone app have increased by 22%.

SEEK spokesperson Jo Rix said the iPhone app provides jobseekers with an easy and convenient way to look and apply for a new job, anywhere, anytime.

It may come as a bit of a surprise to some, but people are almost as likely to actually apply for a job on their mobile phone as they are from a desktop computer. Plus, Australians are seven times more likely to asave jobsa when using the app and then access their saved jobs later on their iPad or desktop.
