THE bushfire threat has eased and storm season has been delayed, but that could all change pretty quickly according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The Gladstone region got a welcome drop of rain at the end of October and moisture levels have been up with more showers and maybe the odd storm today and across the weekend.

There is a southerly change coming in probably late on Saturday with the chance of coastal showers to go with it.

BOM senior forecaster Bryan Rollstone said we hadn't seen any significant thunderstorms so far this season and the temperatures had not yet climbed significantly to increase the fire danger with a bit of moisture still about.
