THEY'RE the heroes in orange who risk their lives every day to save those in emergency situations.

They're the men and women who put aside their own personal and work commitments to tarp rooves, search for the missing and support other emergency service workers.

They are the SES.

Warwick hosted the SES Week awards on Tuesday night and two Warwick volunteers, Vance Sinden and Matthew Sondergeld, received certificates for their contributions.

Warwick SES Local Controller John Newley said the two volunteers, who have been with the group for about eight years, were well-deserved winners.

C[pounds sterling]When we had our big intake at the start of the year, they started doing extra night training sessions to get the new volunteers up to the basic skill level required.
