BEING wheelchair bound, Chris Daley knows only to well the challenge facing those with mobility problems and the need for suitable equipment.

So, when he saw a story on Toowoomba woman Madonna Brosnan's quest to supply the disabled of Nigeria with such medical equipment, Mr Daley couldn't resist getting involved.

aI just thought to myself a[approximately]I've got to do something about this' and it snowballed from there,a said the resident of Burrum Heads near Hervey Bay.

Mr Daley and wife Serena placed an advertisement in their paper calling for donations of things like wheelchairs, walkers, walking sticks, clothing, toys, books, school products, laptops, VCRs, cassette players... anything that could be used by the disadvantaged of Nigeria.

aThe generosity of the people was amazing,a Mrs Daley said.

aOne lady is 92-years-old and she has been knitting things for years but had no-one to give it to. …
