Ranger Hill Faces Big Pay Day

MONTO trainer Gary Popp unsuccessfully tried to get the races rearranged so Ranger Hill could compete twice at Mt Perry's 140th anniversary meeting tomorrow.

Ranger Hill is in good form with two wins and a second from his last three outings and his trainer intends on making the most of it.

Popp has accepted for Ranger Hill in the Class 4 (1200m) and the Open Handicap (1400m) Co races 3 and 5.

Popp said Ranger Hill was in good condition and despite not everything going to plan he would try and run him in both races.

C[pounds sterling]I think he is fit enough to run in both races Co he had a couple of good wins recently so he had shown something,C[yen] Popp said.

C[pounds sterling]I tried to get the order of the races changed but they wouldn't make the change. But there's 100 minutes between runs and if he pulls up well he will start race 5 for sure.C[yen]

With five races scheduled it proves country racing is thriving. …
