Craggs Suffers a Second Straight Defeat

STILL smarting from his 7-0 defeat by Wallsend's Gary Wilson, Tow Law's David Craggs lost his second consecutive Lumley Moor Premier League contest to Newcastle's Paul McHugh, the game finishing 4-3. Having amassed 44 points from several chances in the first half of the opener, McHugh took full advantage of a loose safety shot later in the frame to take it 82-24 with a 38 break.

With neither player showing any signs of their real ability, it was Craggs who brought the game to life.

He chalked up what was one of his best efforts of the contest, a frame-winning 55 to take the second 75-23.

Craggs got the third off the ground with an early 38 but never potted another ball.

McHugh sunk two long accurate reds which allowed him to make a small run of 21 and a 27 clearance to claim the frame 62-38.

Out in front in the next by 51-17 thanks to a nice 32, Craggs looked to be on his way to levelling the scores. …
