Inhuman appliance The kitchen at rest is waiting, for soon its life will once more have meaning, It gleams with stainless steel and chromium plate, At its impeccable best from yesterday's activities, The refrigerator begins to hum gently to itself, Crooning in anticipation, while the freezer being disturbed gently Answers back, for they are as one, The cooker inert, waits in solemn silence, its inside Excitedly waiting for the call to duty, Light slants through the blind, the heating calls for readiness In the morning light, A door bangs announcing rising of humanity, noises, Disharmony clashing with threats of abuse as the bathroom''s Popularity momentarily relegates the kitchen's, Yawns become scuffles, the kettle first to rise full steam Amid burning, leaping toast having felt its internal prowess, Smells intermingle, appliances under pressure and vocal And physical abuse know it is almost over, for time is king.

Clashing doors, lips on flesh, hurried goodbyes confirm The conclusion till then again, for we cannot be done without. …
