TWO long-time local law firms have announced plans to combine their expertise and merge practices.

Cleary and Lee was established in 1919 and is one of the oldest law firms in Toowoomba Co this week it becomes part of national plaintiff firm Shine Lawyers.

Shine Lawyers' executive director Stephen Roche said the fusion of the firms had special significance for Shine.

C[pounds sterling]The first Shine Lawyers office was also in Toowoomba and our history here goes back to 1976,C[yen] Mr Roche said.

C[pounds sterling]It's always been the heart of Shine even as we have grown nationally, and we welcome the knowledge and history that Cleary & Lee will bring to help more people.C[yen]

Mr Roche said Cleary and Lee would add a new area of expertise to Shine, with well-known lawyer Pat Nunan joining the firm.

C[pounds sterling]It will allow us to also help those with aviation, maritime and military issues Co both in Australia and internationally. …
