THE death occurred suddenly of Mr Keith Palmer. He is survived by his widow, formerly Mabel Spencer, of Grafton and three children.

MRS D C Rayner, of Tyndale, has returned home from Sydney after attending the graduation ceremony of her daughter, Janice, who is a nurse at Royal Prince Henry Hospital.

THE great sacrifice of Catholic parents in the education of their children in Catholic schools was stressed by the Rev Father John Roger in his address to the annual speech day and prize giving function of St Mary's College, Grafton, yesterday morning. Father Roger said he wished to pay a public tribute to the Editor and staff of aThe Daily Examinera. The Editor was a Christian man who placed importance upon the work not only of his own church, but of all churches in the community. His open mind, fairness and eagerness to help were deeply appreciated by the Catholic people.

MY deepest respects to the incoming council. I sincerely trust that these gentlemen consider the health of the public in generally by sprinkling a little asodium fluoridea on the city's central garbage dump. …
