Sixty Years United; Memories Unfold as Isisford Folk Celebrate Marriage Anniversary
IN THEIR 60 years of marriage former Isisford residents Les and Jeannie Molloy (nee McLune) have created a wonderful family of two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
When asked the secret to a 60-year marriage Jeannie replied, C[pounds sterling]Just understanding each other, being able to talk everything through, not like the youngsters today.
C[pounds sterling]They have an argument and one or the other packs up and leaves,C[yen] she said.
C[pounds sterling]Well when you argue, as all people do, you have to sit down after you cool off and sort it out, you gotta know each other,C[yen] Les said.
Les and Jeannie, who now live on their property, Imperial Vale, near Agnes Water, were joined by family and some of their many Isisford friends for a celebration barbecue to mark their 60th anniversary at their daughter Beth's home in Rockhampton.
Their Isisford friends presented them with a lovely plaque which read: C[pounds sterling]It doesn't matter where you go in life. It is who you have beside you.C[yen]
Not content with getting together once a year for the Isisford reunion in Rockhampton, Isisfordites also gathered for Christmas drinks on Sunday, December 2 at Bernie Megaw's home. …
