A YOUNG Grafton couple announced their engagement last night. They are Sue, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Fred Spring and the late Mrs. B. Watkin, of Bacon street, and Brian, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Paine, of Hoof street.

IN the recent primary final and bursary examination, 54 of the 57 students at St. Mary's Convent School, Grafton, were successful. Gwen Landenberger gained first prize in the diocese for English. St. Mary's Infants' School held its school concert yesterday morning. Students who received prizes were: 2nd class, Paul Commerford and David Tarrant 1, Margo Thompson and Christopher Morley 2, Loraine Carey 3; spelling prize, Ann Dougherty and Patrick Battersley; 1st class, Richard Kelly 1, Allan Gill 2, Mark Latham 3; kindergarten, Rosemary Lee and Patricia Brown 1, Larry Bailey and Colette Hartman 2, Kathy Dougherty, Greg Moy, Kerrie Irwin and Terry Ryan 3; special, Anne Gillett.
