ANOTHER deep incursion into the SCG Cup is on the cards for Coffs Harbour after it qualified for the quarter-finals following a win against Tweed Heads.

Despite playing away from home in Kingscliff, Coffs proved too strong with both bat and ball scoring 222 runs before dismissing the home side for 193 and a comfortable victory.

The victory means Coffs Harbour will now play a sudden-death clash on the Central Coast, however its opposition is yet to be determined.

Coffs Harbour representative stalwart Matt Rose said the win against Tweed was a great team result.

aTo go a long way in this competition all 11 players have to deliver, and on Sunday I think everyone made a contribution,a Rose said.

aWe lost some early wickets but strong performances from Alex Byrne scoring 61 and Ben Sims with 35 helped us to a competitive total.a It was a big day with the ball for young gun Luke Corlis who took two wickets and bowled three maidens from only six overs. …
