SHARE rides will be encouraged at the Denham St Taxi Rank in Rockhampton on New Yearas Eve.

Prices are $10 a person to South Rockhampton, $12 to North Rockhampton and $14 to Gracemere, Parkhurst and Nerimbera. Fares north of Ramsay Creek will be on the meter.

Passengers who do not wish to share ride will need to advise the marshal and request to travel separately.

CENTRAL Queensland residents are urged to be extra vigilant with a high-fire-danger-rating predicted for the remainder of the week.

With fire activity ramping up across the state, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service is reminding residents to make sure they do all they can to prepare their homes and properties.
