In 2011a12, the top Queensland producers of coal were:

Goonyella Riverside (BMA) 13.9million tonnes

Hail Creek (Rio) 12.8m tonnes

Curragh (Wes) 11.9m tonnes

Dawson (Anglo) 11.7m tonnes

Peak Downs (BMA) 11.1m tonnes

The top five sellers of Queensland coal were:

Curragh (Wes) 10.1m tonnes

Goonyella-Riverside (BMA) 9.7m tonnes

Dawson (Anglo) 9.3m tonnes

Rolleston (Xstrata) 9m tonnes

Blackwater (BMA) 8.4m tonnes

FOR the second year in a row, the giant Goonyella Riverside Mine near Moranbah in Central Queensland has been named the Stateas number one coal producer.

Figures just released by the Queensland Government showed the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance site pulled 13.9 million tonnes of coal from the ground in the 2011a12 financial year.

Taking second place was Rio Tintoas Hail Creek, which had 12.8 million tonnes, and Wesfarmersa Curragh Mine with 11. …
