He Was a Good Lad, Says Mother of Driver, 15, Who Died Fleeing Police

THE mother of an under-age driver who died when his car hit a tree during a police chase today paid tribute to her "little boy".

The 15-year-old, named by family and friends as Georgio Tyson, was pronounced dead at the scene at the junction of Brondesbury Park and Honeyman Close in Brent at 12.30am on Friday.

The Nissan Micra is believed to have been travelling at 70mph and one passenger, 19, is in critical condition with injuries that sources say may leave him paralysed from the waist down. Two other male passengers, aged 19 and 20, are in a serious but stable condition.

Georgio's mother Tracey, from Queen's Park, said: "He was my little boy. He'll always be my little boy. He was a good lad. I just want him to be in peace."

Asked about how he died, she said: "I haven't thought about that yet. I'm not sleeping properly. It's a very difficult time. I'd just like to thank everyone for their condolences and to ask people to respect the fact that we're grieving. …
