Queensland Open to Tee off Again at Brookwater Next Year

THE QUEENSLAND Open is set to return to Brookwater next August.

Part of the PGA Tour of Australasia, the tournament will carry official ranking points for golfers and see a purse of $110,000 on offer.

A deal with naming sponsors Isuzu will see the tournament held at the prestigious course for the next three years.

Golf Queensland chair Peter Castrisos said he was pleased to have the stateas premier event back on the calendar after a five-year absence.

It was last held in 2007 when it was won by Queenslander Ryan Haller.

aThe Isuzu Queensland Open will give a fantastic opportunity for our top amateur golfers to qualify and compete against the PGA professionals in a 72-hole championship event,a he said.

The return of the Queensland Open will see the touras finest golfers competing on Queenslandas top-rated golf course.

Brookwater Golf and Country Club was ranked number one in the state by Golf Australia.

Castrisos said since 1925 the Queensland Open has been a key tournament for many top-ranked professional players. …
