ROD Cartwright never hesitates to make the trip from the Sunshine Coast to Broadwater Haven.

And after catching this 700mm flathead walking along the main channel of the creek in October, it is plain to see why.

Broadwater Haven marketing manager Janie Kayes said flathead were prevalent at Broadwater Haven, which is located in Deepwater National Park.
